This was taken on my trip to Agua Prieta, Mexico with my uncle, his girlfriend and my mom. This was actually my first time outside of the United States. On the border, the transition from one country to the other was night and day. You went from well lit roads and fast food restaurants on every corner to barely any lighting besides the main road and dirt paths going in and around the city. This photo in particular was taken around where we were staying. We had come to Mexico for a few days to help finish a home that was being built by my uncle’s church group for a family. I learned a lot about roofing while I was out there, but more importantly I saw the conditions and places that many people in the world outside of my own bubble live in. In Agua Prieta, there was many open lots or half built homes, as seen here.
